The Joy of Smash Volleyball Summer Camp: A Young Player’s Journey

I went to Smash Volleyball Summer Camp for 4 weeks straight.

It was 6hrs per day of intense training.

And I loved it!🥰

Volleyball is like a cycle. 🔄 If you perform a good pass, there will be a likely chance of a good set, and followed by a good hit. But in order to have the game going, a good serve is essential.

I am only a young player, but here are some things to suggest:

  • When you play, try to think of a goal while playing. For example, I want my dig to go 2010, I would try to make that happen. If it happened, I would want to try again and do the same thing. I want to make sure it wasn’t just by luck. If I failed doing it, I want to think what was wrong with the dig? Did the ball hit a wrong part of my arms? Should I change the angle of my arms? Is my ready and go position correct? Can I do more?
  • Also, one more tip: Always talk with your fellow companions. Call out “Mine, mine, mine!” Or “I got it. I got it.” so that the players on your court know that you will get the ball. This is for safety issues and so to prevent you from stepping on someone and spraining your ankle (like me).

I have to admit, I am not that good at volleyball, and people tends to ask me why do you still love it? I always give an answer: I started playing since first grade because a friend of mine took me to play it. I realize that even though I am not best on my team, I still enjoy playing volleyball. There is a lot of teamwork involved and I love every moment of winning or losing a point. I love every moment when the ball comes to me and I make a perfect pass, set, or hit. I love every moment even if I did not make a perfect pass, set, or hit.
